Before Shop-Eat-Surf, there were two sites I paid for premium content on. One is Surfline, the other is the Wall Street Journal. One is about all things surf, the other, the best business content site in the world. Shop-eat-surf is the intersection of those two worlds. Shop-Eat-Surf provides everything from coverage of events, people, brands and trends. However, beyond the Executive Edition "wall" is more meaty analysis and interpretation of financial statements, business models and brand philosophies; why certain brands and companies are succeeding, where others aren't. The Executive Edition is a must have read if the business of surf and action sports are on your radar screen.
- By Jeff Berg, Co-owner, Surfline
I find Shop-Eat-Surf to be a very useful and informative site that I enjoy browsing daily. Shop-Eat-Surf is the first thing I look at every morning to keep up-to-date on the latest talk, events, and happenings in the industry. I must say I am a fan of Shop-Eat-Surf.

If you are having trouble seeing stories, or with your Executive login, clearing your web browser cache may help. If you continue to have issues, please email me at tiffany@shop-eat-surf.com. Press Release:
Santa Ana, Ca. (September 28th, 2010) Life Distribution LLC announces the hire of Christina Smith as the Girls National Sales Director. Christina is by no means—a stranger to the Split Girl brand; she originated the brand back in 1999 with the founding partners. Her drive, dedication and knowledge of the girls market helped to launch Split Girls into the success and highly desired brand it is currently known for.
As National Sales Director, Smith will supervise all domestic and international sales for Split Girl and Swim, work with key accounts, forecast and manage production/ inventory and expand distribution. Her first order of business is building a reliable rep team. Currently Split Girl is showcasing their Spring 2011 swimwear collection; a mix of coordinated tops and bottoms that all merchandise together by color and pattern. “The prints have been fantastic, as well as the T-back triangle top,” Smith said.
“Christina’s background as a rep, sales manager, merchandiser and most recently contemporary boutique owner combined with her eye for fashion and history of the brand made her the perfect candidate,” said original founder of Split and President of Life Distribution, David Patri.
“I love that Split Girl never positioned itself as a true action sports brand. It introduced a more girly-fashion inspired formula to the industry and has stayed true to that. This industry is starving for something fresh and I think they will get that with Split…It’s all about product,” Smith said.
Still mindful of its roots in swim and surf, the brand will again seek to be a presence in Surf shops and select retailers, while expanding its influence in the fashion boutique market. The Split Girl swim line will continue its universal success in all swimwear retailers. Split Girl Swim now under the care of Life Distribution will be available in Spring 2011 in the United States and Canada. The Split Girl apparel line will re-launch for Fall 2011 in the United States, Canada and Europe.
