Global Surf Industries Partners with Creative Army Surfboards

Print Friendly and PDF

Global Surf Industries are proud to announce a new partnership with acclaimed Australian surfer / shaper Josh Constable and his surfboard brand Creative Army.

Born and bred on the perfect point breaks of Noosa Heads, Josh has distinguished himself an amazing waterman. A 6 x Australian Longboard Champion, as well as the 2006 WSL World Longboard Champion, he’s also won an Australian Stand Up Paddle championship too, with a total of 37 major titles to his credit.

Having worked alongside some of the most renowned shapers in the world throughout his surfing life, Josh humbly views his career evolution as a shaper as “a collide-a-scope of all these experiences.” His surfboards have become pieces of art, inspired by traditional templates, but with a modern surfer in mind.

“Growing up and living in Noosa gives you an amazing opportunity to ride a wide variety of boards, and a great platform for R&D,” explains Constable. “Everything I make I surf, and the focus is high quality, functional boards, with fashion forward aesthetics in full tint and pigment color ways.

“The opportunity to work with GSI is amazing,” he added. “Their worldwide distribution will give a lot of people the opportunity to surf one of my boards, and that’s exactly what I want.”

“Josh and I've known each other for many years,” explains GSI’s Founder and CEO, Mark Kelly. “I've always admired his ability and passion for surfing. He is the personification of our Mantra - Life is better when you Surf. I've been watching him build his Creative Army brand over the past few years and believe that it offers a really fresh perspective because of Josh's surfer/shaper abilities. He is part of the next wave of surfboard designers. I am really excited about helping to bring this brand to its full potential around the world.

“Creative Army fits nicely into the GSI portfolio alongside globally recognized brands like Haydenshapes, Walden Surfboards and Tom Carroll Paddle Surf.”

GSI will start to deliver the Creative Army models in early 2017.
