World leading surf hardware company Creatures of Leisure are thrilled to announce today that World Tour athlete Jack Freestone has joined their elite International team.

A two-time World Junior Champion, who’s showcased his talents in a string of sizzling video parts over the years, Freestone couldn’t be happier about coming into the Creatures fold. “I’m so pumped to join a core brand like Creatures of Leisure,” says the 25-year-old natural-footer. “From the incredible team, to the people involved behind the scenes, it’s a phenomenal company and I’m really excited to be a part of it.”

“Coming from the Gold Coast I grew up idolising world champions Mick Fanning and Stephanie Gilmore, so to be surfing alongside them and guys like Jay Davies and Mitch Coleborn is really cool, and will push me harder than ever to take my surfing to the next level.”

As an elite talent Freestone understands the importance of quality surf hardware better than most, and he’ll take more confidence into his surfing knowing that his leashes and traction pads will never fail him in the water, no matter the critical situations he puts them in. “Having full faith in your equipment is crucial,” says Freestone, “and at the end of the day as a competitor that’s something you can’t put a price on.”

Back on land Freestone is looking forward to packing his quiver into Creatures boardbags. “Travelling the world to surf is the best job you could hope for, and it’s made even easier knowing that your boards are always going to arrive in one piece. I’m psyched!”

“Jack’s such a great fit for our team,” explains Paul Anderson, Brand Manager at Creatures. “Jack’s heavily into product and will bring some really fresh perspective to our design team, we’re stoked to have him on board”.

Jack Freestone’s contract with Creatures of Leisure starts immediately, and no doubt a fruitful partnership will ensue long into the future. Keep an eye out for his signature traction pad coming early in 2018!

The region boasts multiple breaks within a relatively short span of coast, most with a reputation for quality and a power comparable with that of Hawaii. It’s the perfect place to test surf hardware.

None of the Creatures of Leisure products hit the market without being given a thorough workout in these waves by our staff and sponsored riders or further afield by members of our international surf team.
