On Saturday, October 24, skate history was once again made. IASC and Skatelab held the first-ever Skateboarding Hall Of Fame at the Vans skatepark in Orange. Four skateboarders, from four different decades, were inducted at the event: Bruce Logan, Tony Alva, Danny Way, and Tony Hawk.

Don Bostick and Jim Fitzpatrick announced the winners, and Logan, Alva, and Way each said a few words. Tony Hawk was on an East Coast Birdhouse tour and couldn't make it back, so his brother Steve Hawk accepted on his behalf.

In addition to the celebration, the "Rip The Ripper" art show was on display, and there was an auction to benefit the Go Skateboarding Foundation.

The who's who of skateboarding, from yesterday and today came out of the woodwork to watch. Skateboarders and skateboarding advocates from the last 50 years all got together and told stories, caught up, and forged some new friendships, hopefully setting the pace for these events for years to come.
