Agenda adding Las Vegas show as part of alliance

Agenda is heading to Las Vegas in August in a strategic alliance with a collection of other trade shows: AccessoriesTheShow, Capsule, Liberty, MRket and Stitch.

The alliance is called Modern Assembly, and one of the movers behind the deal is original Project Show founder Sam Ben-Avraham, who is launching a new show, Liberty.

I asked Agenda President Aaron Levant if its new financial partnership with large trade show company Reed Exhibitions allowed this Vegas move to become a reality for Agenda.

Aaron said, “The relationship with Reed is what allows us to secure space in Vegas long term, as Reed Exhibitions is the largest producer of shows in the city.

“I have also had a long-standing friendship with both the team at Capsule and Sam from Liberty. I have been considering taking Agenda to Vegas for some time now, but it was not until this year when we talked about forming Modern Assembly, that I felt it was the time to really make a run at the opportunity. The combined energy of these four organizations will create a very unique show experience for everyone.

“Also this Vegas show is in addition to the two shows a year we have in Long Beach and in NYC, so we will now be producing six shows a year in the U.S. The Long Beach show will continue to focus on Action Sports / Youth Culture brands and the Vegas show will have more of a Streetwear / Lifestyle focus.

“The timing of the LB and NY shows we have now are great for about half of our brands (particularly in the footwear category) but there is another segment of brands that feels our shows are too early for their booking calendar, so this allows us to cater to both sides of our client base.”

Here is the official press release announcing Modern Assembly:

MODERN ASSEMBLY, A NEW ALLIANCE OF APPAREL SHOWS TO DEBUT IN LAS VEGAS

TRADESHOW GROUPS TO COLLABORATE AT THE VENETIAN FOR AUGUST 2013

NEW YORK, NY January 25, 2013: Modern Assembly, a new strategic alliance made up of the AccessoriesTheShow, Agenda, Capsule, Liberty, MRket and Stitch tradeshows, has announced a unified presence to debut in Las Vegas for August 2013. The shows will present A/W 2013 collections from more than 2500 brands at the Venetian and Sands Expo in a newly developed, streamlined format for one of North America’s largest fashion market weeks.

In a move that dispels the myths and competitive nature between the fashion tradeshows of yesteryear, the shows that comprise Modern Assembly will provide an ideal mix of resources in the right environments, with the utmost of convenience by co-locating and cross-marketing. Starting this February, Modern Assembly will present a strategic, unified and global approach to promoting Las Vegas as a major fashion destination, to elevate the experience for all participants. Modern Assembly will enrich the Las Vegas market by enabling retailers to shop authentic shows that have real roots and meaningful solutions for a complete array of industry segments and will offer buyers an unparalleled experience that values and promotes a vast range of selection, fine-tuned merchandising and a high-level of customer service.
