Firewire Surfboards' new method of making surfboards has received an endorsement and order from Lost Surfboards.


The two companies said yesterday that Lost will make a limited range of Lost surfboards with Firewire's Future Shapes Technology.

News surfaced out of Australia this week that Matthew Perrin filed for bankruptcy. Perrin, a former Billabong CEO, is a lead investor in surfboard maker Firewire. Firewire CEO Mark Price said his company is not impacted by Perrin's personal financial issues. Firewire is self-funded at this stage and uses Wells Fargo as a factor, Price said.

Although hardgoods is a tough category these days, we heard a lot of good things about surfboard brand Firewire during the holiday.
