ETNIES SKATEPARK HOSTING THE SHECKLER FOUNDATION’S SKATE FOR A CAUSE THIS SATURDAY

The Free Event is Open to the Public and Features Pro Skaters Competing in Best Trick Contests

May 24, 2010 (Lake Forest, CA) – On Saturday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., etnies is presenting the Sheckler Foundation’s Skate for a Cause at the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest.

This event benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation and will feature the nation’s top skateboarders competing in three best trick contests and the chance for event attendees to win prizes from Skate for a Cause’s major sponsors. Entrance to Skate for a Cause is free and open to the public.




Top pro skateboarders from all over the country are traveling to Lake Forest to skate for the cause that brings happiness to kids everywhere, a shared goal of the Sheckler Foundation and Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The best trick contests begin at 2 p.m. with a total prize purse of $10,000.

Although entrance to Skate for a Cause is free, skateboard fans can get closer to their favorite pro skaters by purchasing an in-the-park Friends and Family pass for $200 per person, which places pass holders alongside the action during the skate demos and contests.

VIP tickets to special, guaranteed seating right outside the skating area may also be purchased for $50 per person.

The in-the-park Friends and Family passes and VIP tickets are available for sale at the event, and all money raised through their sales will be donated to the Make-A-Wish foundation.

In addition to watching the best skate pros compete, Skate for a Cause attendees are invited to donate to the cause by participating at the skateboard carnival village where, for a small fee, they can play custom-designed games and win prizes.

All money raised in the skateboard carnival village will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The skateboard carnival village will also feature food and beverages that can be purchased from Skate for a Cause sponsors Boneheads and Archie’s Ice Cream, while the younger crowd can also enjoy themselves at Make-A-Wish Foundation’s bounce house and get their face painted at the Kids for Wish Kids booth.
