Save The Waves to honor Dr. Wallace “J.” Nichols at Life Is A Wave fundraiser 

 

San Francisco, CA – Save The Waves Coalition is excited to announce its sixth annual Life Is A Wave fundraiser and benefit party, a yearly celebration of grassroots coastal environmentalism through music, art, film, and community.

 

This year, the dynamic celebration will be on Friday June 15th, once again at the incomparable 111 Minna Gallery in downtown San Francisco, from 6:30pm to midnight.

 

This year’s event will feature live music from exciting up and coming futuristic funk artist Mars Today (formerly Yung Mars), along with Jake Nielsen’s Triple Threat, two bands strongly influenced by the California coast and surf scene.

 

Fuerza Chile’s own DJ Julicio will be mixing in Latin-influenced beats, and DJ Teeko will round out the evening’s music. Life Is A Wave also will feature a live and silent auction, as well as a hosted VIP reception with open bar and food starting at 5:30pm.

 

Save The Waves is proud to present its 2012 Wave Saver Award to marine biologist and environmentalist Dr. Wallace “J.” Nichols, Research Associate at the California Academy of Sciences and founder/collaborator on numerous environmental organizations and campaigns.

 

Dr. Nichols is being recognized for his ongoing innovative work to protect our ocean environment and inspiring so many others to do the same.
