Rancho Cucamonga, CA – October 30, 2014 – 2014 is Active Ride Shop’s 25th year supporting skateboarding and Vans created a special Sk8-Hi Pro shoe to celebrate.  Active and Vans are both skate brands that originated in the heart of the skateboarding world in Southern California.  The inspiration behind the materials used in the Active 25th Anniversary Sk8-Hi Pro shoe comes from its roots – a skate shop that created a sense of community and grew with the brands, skateboarders and people it supported.

Many of the best skateboarders in the world are part of a community the employees and riders call, The Active Family.  Long before his first pro model board came out, Van’s rider Johnny Layton worked at an Active Ride Shop and went on to ride for the brand.  A few more team riders shared by Vans and Active are Christian Hosoi, Daniel Lutheran and Kyle Walker.

Limited to 400 pairs worldwide, the Active 25th Anniversary Sk8-Hi Pro shoe will be released Nov. 1 at Active Ride Shop stores and www.activerideshop.com.

This skate shoe is made to skate with premium black pig suede on the vamp, eyerow and tongue.  The heel counter of the shoe is a heather grey fleece material tying back to the start of the Active brand apparel, which began as fleece sweatshirts and sweatpants.  The side quarter is made of a tough ballistic nylon representing the strength of the Active brand after 25 years. It also has finishing details like a fleece collar lining, clear sole with a red and grey inlay, and silver lace tips as well as a red suede side stripe with metallic silver print to help celebrate Active’s Silver Anniversary.
