Press release:

SAN CLEMENTE, CA (May 20, 2015) — Stance today announced the appointment of Paul Zaengle as executive vice president of global ecommerce. In this newly created position, Zaengle will leverage his extensive retail and ecommerce background to bolster the brand’s digital presence and ecommerce offerings.

Zaengle will play a key role in accelerating Stance’s online growth, implementing digital strategies and creating a seamless brand platform where customers can interact with the brand, shop, and connect with Stance partner retailers around the globe.

“Paul Zaengle is a baller. He knows physical retail and eComm and the interplay between them,” said Jeff Kearl, chairman and CEO of Stance. “We’re pretty stoked to be the company that won the Paul Zaengle lottery.”

Zaengle brings more than 18 years of digital experience to Stance, including 15 years in the apparel and footwear industry. In his most recent role as senior vice president of US retail at lululemon athletica, he led lululemon’s multi-channel US business and ecommerce efforts. Prior to lululemon, Zaengle served as the VP of global ecommerce at Columbia Sportswear, where he led and launched all four of Columbia Sportswear’s brands – Columbia, Sorel, Mountain Hardwear and Montrail – into the ecommerce space, both domestically and internationally. Earlier in his career, he held the role of VP of Interactive Technology at Polo Ralph Lauren. He was also an inaugural member of the Shop.org Think Tank.

“I jumped at the chance to join Stance,” said Zaengle. “I saw an opportunity to join an innovative company that has revolutionized an essential product by injecting technology, style and a healthy dose of attitude. I am eager to carry over that approach to the digital space, delivering the digital version of the ‘uncommon thread’ to customers around the world.”

ABOUT STANCE

Embracing “The Uncommon Thread” as its mantra, Stance has turned socks into one of the world’s most exciting accessories in less than five years. Stance’s founders saw a category that had been ignored, taken for granted, looked over, dismissed. By breathing life into something that had been overlooked, Stance ignited a movement of art and self-expression that has drawn athletes, performers and iconic cultural influencers to the brand – a group they call the Punks & Poets. And by underpinning its creative roots with a relentless focus on technical innovation, Stance is now found in over 40 countries on the feet of those who dare to be different. Stance’s first underwear line will be released later this year.
