Miami Swim Week Trend Report and Photos

Swimwear brands from around the world came to Miami Swim to show their Spring and Resort 2019 collections this weekend.
Everyone who’s anyone in swim travels to Miami to showcase their lines at the Cabana, Hammock or Swim Show trade shows.
Throughout the week, many brands host runway shows, dinner parties and events.
All of the surf industry brands in attendance were happy that they had decided to come to Miami Swim and were booked with back-to-back appointments throughout the weekend.
A few trends stood out among both surf and fashion swimwear brands:
Cuts: High-hip (french cut) and high-waisted bottoms, specifically with a thick waistband, are in almost every line. Bandeau tops in a variety of silhouettes are increasingly popular.
Colors: Navy blue and earthy tones such as copper, clay red, burnt orange, brown and tan make an appearance in most lines. Pops of mint, peach, coral and violet are sprinkled throughout many collections as well. Gold and mustard yellow, which were very popular for 2018, are still sprinkled in but are losing popularity.
Prints: Animal print, color blocking and retro stripes are strong prints for Spring and Resort 2019. Feminine and retro florals are popular as well.
Fabrics and detailing:Â Textured fabrics such as ribbing and seersucker, are included in most collections. Knotting details such as lace-up sides on one-pieces and tie-front tops also make appearances in many lines.
