Roark Introduces Vol.15 “Vagabundos Del Carne”
This Fall 2018, we follow Roark into the more classical setting of Northern Patagonia, Argentina for inspiration to build our collection. The offerings of the region are diverse, weather is unpredictable, people are rugged, and the carne is unprecedented. Shades of gold and dusty brown dominate the landscape, creative a living vintage feel of desaturation – a perfect base of inspiration for garments. The rigid climate and demanding environment inspired the layering and outerwear designed for the season.
The story kicks off navigating our way by trail into the Argentine Steppe, where we’re accompanied by 3 new members joining the Revivalist family; welcome Drew Smith, Alex Andrews, and Manu Dominguez. Drew traditionally behind the camera lens, joins as a skillful adventurer with a sheer talent in climbing and capturing rock faces around the world. Alex Andrews aka “Froth Puppy,” is the ultimate ring leader for any group with his contagious positive energy. Alex’s background in snowboarding brings a winter element to the crew, but ultimately, he’s skilled in any mountainous or board driven activity you put in front of him. Then comes Argentine snowboarder Manu – a natural fit with the team as his outdoor experience guided us flyfishing down the Rio Limay and up through the Southern Andes where he led the way by splitboard.
We later return to the Falkland Islands (Malvines) to surf and explore the rugged coastline in the heart of the winter. Extreme to be sure, but well worth the risk. We hope you enjoy the stories and the collection of clothes, trinkets and general stoke inspired by Roark’s expedition to Argentina. Travel well.
The chase for Roark Began out of desire to tell stories born of adventure and discovery in the form of a man – he’s the bar-brawling adventurer that disappears into Mexico for six months camping, only to surface in Paris drinking Bordeaux with a diplomat’s daughter. Each season we find Roark in a different part of the world, telling stories of his exploits within our product, on social platforms and in a printed book at retail. Inspired by the culture and climate of Roark’s destination, we product two collection per year of clothing, luggage and trinkets – the artifacts of adventure. The product and stories we create empower people to discover through authentic, irreverent, dangerous, and purposeful adventure on the road less traveled.
