Bollé Extends Its Collaboration with David Wise
The Bollé brand has a strong history of involvement at the highest level of winter sports, with a tradition of supporting top champions that has been established for more than 70 years. Confirming its continued commitment to equipping top athletes, the brand announces it will be extending its collaboration with the American freestyle champion David Wise until 2022. Bollé will support this halfpipe hero throughout his competitions and his preparation leading up to the Winter Olympics. Mr. Wise will be wearing the NEVADA Signature Series goggle bearing his colors that he created with Bollé’s Product Development team, and is also involved in the latest game changing digital innovation of the brand.
David Wise is not only one of most decorated halfpipe skiers in the world – he is also a challenger which he proved by coming back to his top level after his surgery last year. “Recovering from a difficult and painful injury has given me the clarity that I needed” says the champion. “Overcoming difficulties and experiencing injuries gives you an opportunity to appreciate what you have and work even harder to keep it. I am now stronger than ever, both in body and mind. It is going to be a good season! “
The freestyle skiing champion can count on the reliability and performance of his Bollé gear: the MUTE freestyle helmet, and his NEVADA Signature Series goggle. “I am hyped on my Signature Series Nevada goggles” he says. “Having the right gear makes me twice as confident. I wanted to make goggles with the right field of view that also looked fresh. Since I took them out of the box, I haven’t wanted to take them off. And from October 28th, with Bollé’s latest digital innovation I took part in, everybody will be able to try them on…or out!”.
Featuring camouflage graphics developed by the freestyler himself, the NEVADA David Wise Signature Series frameless design and cylindrical lens offer the widest field of vision in Bolle’s range—and feature the brand’s latest lens innovation: Phantom lens technology. Providing unbeatable clarity thanks to its NXT® construction, Phantom lens photochromic technology also adapts to any light condition at any temperature. Engineered with LTS Technology (Low Temperature Sensitivity), the Phantom lens delivers improved activation, darkening or lightening whether the temperature is -25°C or 5°C. Last but not least, Bollé’s Flow Tech® venting system and anti-fog treatment eliminate fog ensuring that the wearer enjoys excellent visibility even during the most intense action.
In the upcoming days, Bollé will launch a new digital innovation allowing all the athlete’s fans to try their champion’s goggles directly from their phone.
As for his head protection, David relies on the MUTE helmet for several seasons. Highly resistant to impact thanks to its ABS construction – a must for daredevil freestylers – and featuring best-in-class brain protection system MIPS®, the MUTE MIPS keeps the wearer’s head cool thanks to an Airflow Extractor and integrated ventilation that ensure optimal air circulation in the helmet. Lastly, the helmet is perfectly adjusted to the head thanks to Bollé’s Click-to-Fit system.
