Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, provides breast cancer prevention education and survivor support programs. B4BC is hosting its 15th Annual Skate the Coast, presented by Suja Organic, a 19-mile skate-bike-roll fundraising event on October 16, 2022. In addition, B4BC is hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Month registration party for Skate the Coast on October 15, 2022.
Skate the Coast’s fun-filled weekend kicks off on Saturday evening, October 15, with a registration party at Firestone Walker Brewing Company in Venice. Then, on October 16, Skate the Coast starts at Santa Monica Pier and concludes at Dive N’ Surf in Redondo Beach. The two-day festivities benefit the B4BC mission and directly support B4BC education, preventative and survivorship programs.
One out of eight women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. Early detection and a healthy, active lifestyle are the best means of breast cancer prevention. “We have held Skate the Coast for the last 15 years to amplify the message that just 30 minutes of exercise three to four days per week can reduce your cancer risk by thirty to fifty percent,” said Lisa Hudson, president, and co-founder of B4BC. “Whether you skate, bike, or roll — B4BC welcomes anyone on wheels of all ages and abilities to join us.”
