VF Names Vans EMEA GM
VF Corp. said this week that its Vans division named Andreas Olsson as the footwear company’s EMEA vice president and general manager.
Olsson’s appointment was effective Monday and comes just two months after he took on the vice president of sales position for Vans’ EMEA business.
“I am very grateful to VF Corp. for this new career opportunity and truly excited to rejoin the Vans family and contribute to its future growth and success,” Olsson said in his LinkedIn profile. “The brand and the culture it represents had a large impact on my life, starting 30 years ago when I was 14 years old growing up in Sweden.”
Olsson will report to Vans Global Brand President Kevin Bailey and Martino Scabbia, VF executive vice president and president of EMEA, APAC, and emerging brands.
Olsson is a veteran with VF Corp. and its brands having also served as Dickies EMEA general manager, VF group digital account director, and as a key account manager at The North Face. He also held several sales positions in an initial stint with Vans from 2012 to 2016.
Olsson takes the reins of the EMEA region as the broader Vans business looks to recharge the brand with a focus on product innovation, enhancements for company-owned stores, and renewed efforts around the core.
“It is an honor to, many years later, lead the regional business of what is widely recognized as one of the original action sports brands and a global icon of creative exploration,” Olsson said. “I feel privileged to work alongside a team of exceptional individuals who inspire me. I look forward to leading and collaborating with this exceptional team, crafting together a ‘checkered’ future.”
