Roark Releases Fall 2023 Collection
Introducing Roark’s Fall 2023 Collection: Far Out East, a new offering of adventure-ready goods, inspired by Roark’s latest travels through Hokkaido, Japan. This season’s journey through Northern Japan found Roark’s team bikepacking through the natural wonders of the Kushiro region, meandering by canoe and Kei Trucks towards the city lights of Sapporo, in freezing temperatures a-top steaming volcanoes, and scouring the barren coastline for good waves and mystic skate spots.
Drawing inspiration from Hokkaido’s enduring respect for nature and heritage, as well as the area’s vivid fall season and powdery winter months, Roark’s Fall 2023 offering, available August 2nd, features a range of Japanese-inspired prints, embroidery, and graphics, alongside premium Japanese-made denim and rich colors like deep indigo and dark sumi.
Of note this fall are seasonal staples including the Layover Pant, Roark’s original travel pant that’s been painstakingly designed, tweaked, tested and proven over the years. Other highlights include trusty transitional layers like the new Barra Scrambler, Roark’s modern take on a throwback fleece, and the Nordsman, Roark’s signature flannel with reinforced elbow panels, collar, and wool blend construction that ensures comfort and warmth in cold environments. Also look for new indigo dyed raw stretch Japanese Denim, manufactured in Fukuyama City, Japan by iconic quality denim crafters Kaihara.
Roark is also excited to introduce Aloha From Japan, a special capsule of men’s and women’s pieces including wovens, boardshorts, and pants inspired by a series of vintage 1970’s Japanese fabrics originally printed in Japan and later discovered at legendary print house Hoffman Fabrics of California.
Also new this season, Roark’s Kampai Collection is an ode to gathering in unfamiliar places with your crew. ‘Kampai’ is the combination of the Japanese symbols for ‘Drink’ and ‘Dry Sake Cup’ – a celebratory word that translates to ‘Drink Your Cup Dry’. Through embroidered details and inspired graphics, the Kampai Collection serves as the first step in your dance along the next adventure.
Last year Roark debuted its highly anticipated Women’s Collection to continue building a community that amplifies women in the outdoors, on the ocean, and off the beaten path. This fall, Roark’s Women’s line returns with an expanded offering including the all new Campover Pant, a new women’s hiking pant featuring ripstop stretch cotton, zip pockets, a high-rise waist and secure, adjustable belt. Also look for updates to the Canyon, a techy new romper and the Amberley, Roark Women’s best-selling oversized shirt jacket available in a new plaid and Kaihara denim this season.
There’s no better way to see the world than by running through it. Roark’s Run Amok offering provides a unique perspective on trail running and activewear born from adventurism. This fall Roark is excited to debut the Baja Short – a new run short for the masses. Created for getting down and dirty, the Baja short takes cues from Run Amok’s pinnacle Alta run short, and minimizes the design; resulting in a piece perfectly dialed for everyday use. Available in 5″ and 7″ styles, the Baja is constructed from a quick-drying polyester spandex blend and features an elastic waistband, rear waterproof phone pocket, gel pocket, and an antimicrobial lightweight brief liner.
