Firewire Surfboards and Slater Designs are excited to unveil FIREWIRE FLEETS immediately at select U.S. retail partners with the program’s eventual global expansion over the upcoming months of 2024.

The premium surfboard rental program will offer a varied 10-16 unit assortment of current Firewire and Slater Designs models kitted complete with fins, traction pad, and the aim of serving customers an elevated surfing experience, while supporting specialty retailers in key surfing communities around the world.

Additionally, each fleet will offer global accessibility to Firewire and Slater Designs’ stable of world-renowned surfboard designers, including Dan Mann, Daniel Thomson and Rob Machado.

“I’ve never liked traveling with boards. I’ve always asked Firewire to ship them to my destination for me,” stated Rob Machado. “Now I can just use FIREWIRE FLEETS. Problem solved.”

While FIREWIRE FLEETS’ primary goal is to service the travelling surfer who wants to avoid the hassle and fees of flying with surfboards, it also accommodates the surfer who wants to “try before they buy”, offering a side-by-side A/B test of different shapes and volumes.

All participating FIREWIRE FLEETS partners will lead the customer rental operations, so pricing will inevitably vary. However, each partner’s association will be amplified by Firewire and Slater Designs’ global digital marketing platform.
