Jetty Kicks Off Summer with Ninth Annual HopSauce Festival
Jetty, the East Coast surf apparel company with a growing presence in the outdoor and active lifestyle markets, is kicking off summer with its annual HopSauce Festival on Saturday, June 15th. Held each June in Beach Haven, New Jersey, HopSauce is a growing community gathering for anyone who appreciates live music, cold craft beer, and a wide variety of hot sauces.
Set to the soundtrack of an eclectic mix of live and original music, HopSauce has become known as the feel-good gathering that ushers in the summer season on beautiful Long Beach Island. It also celebrates the emerging creative community on this bustling barrier island.
The festival is the largest event of the year for Jetty, the locally based coastal lifestyle apparel brand and Certified B Corp with a legacy of involvement in the Long Beach Island region. In partnership with Beach Haven’s Spice It Up, HopSauce raises funds for Jetty’s nonprofit arm, the Jetty Rock Foundation, which protects oceans and waterways, and supports those who build their lives around them. Since 2003, Jetty and Jetty Rock Foundation have donated over $2.3 million.
“When people think about surfing, they often think about the West Coast and the tropics,” said Jetty co-founder Cory Higgins. “Here in New Jersey, we have this really cool community of businesses, creatives, artists, and yes, surfers, all coming together to celebrate summer and the places we love and want to protect.”
Jetty teamed up with Spice It Up to create a lively and memorable event that keeps locals and the extended community coming back for more. This year’s live music lineup features over five hours of music from new, notable and original artists, over 50+ craft beers to taste from local independent and nationally known breweries, and more hot sauce than should be legal from over 20 spicy sauce purveyors.
“Craft beer festivals are a big part of summer, and always a good time, but it’s the hot sauces that make HopSauce special, gathering the businesses and individuals that are truly the backbone of our communities,” added Higgins. “There’s something unique and especially tenacious about being an East Coast surfer and that spirit is celebrated here every summer with these independent brands and the people who come out to help celebrate, all while giving back to a great cause – our precious waterways.”
