Vans and Punkandyo Rework the Skate Old Skool 36
Vans is excited to unveil its latest collaboration with Montreal-based punkandyo, presenting a fresh take on the iconic Skate Old Skool 36. This design features distinctive custom details that pay homage to punkandyo’s ‘00s-inspired aesthetic. The Vans and punkandyo Skate Old Skool 36 will be available online at punkandyo.com starting October 25.
Founded by longtime Vans Skateboarding team rider Etienne Gagne and graphic designer Anthony Asfour, punkandyo embodies a philosophy that transcends the traditional boundaries of skateboarding, fashion, and culture. Drawing inspiration from their roots in skateboarding subculture and childhood nostalgia, punkandyo has realized its vision for the Skate Old Skool 36 in an elevated palette of suede and canvas. The footwear design features Vans Sickstick™ technology for optimal grip and durability, Duracap™ for added longevity, and PopCush™ for impact protection. It is available in a sleek Black/Grey colorway.
Notable custom features include a P&Y hang flag, embossed foxing showcasing punkandyo’s website, and a debossed heel counter graphic. To tie everything together, the laces and foxing prominently display punkandyo’s signature brand font.
