Active to open flagships in HB, San Diego

Active Ride Shop announced a major expansion this evening. One of the most influential skate/fashion retailers in Southern California will open flagship locations in downtown San Diego and at The Strand in Huntington Beach, the new development on Pacific Coast Highway. The stores will open in 2008.

Four other stores are planned for next year, including at the Irvine Spectrum Center. Currently, Active has 20 stores.

Ontario, CA – On October 18, 2007, Active Ride Shop, the Southern California-based action sports retailer and mail order business announces its plans for expansion in 2008, with emphasis upon the launch of two more flagship locations in Southern California.

In August of 2006, Active Ride Shop opened its first flagship location on the Promenade in Santa Monica, located on the corner of 4th and Broadway. In January of 2008, Active will open its second flagship location in downtown San Diego, on 7th and “K” Street, overlooking Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. This San Diego location will feature in-store, boutique-style shops featuring Lifted Research Group (LRG), RVCA, DC Shoes, New Era and Hurley.

Shane Wallace, President of Active Ride Shop, has also announced the company’s plans to open its third flagship location in Huntington Beach on 5th Street, near Main Street and the famous Huntington Beach Pier, at The Strand – a new shopping and hotel district. Wallace explained, “Huntington beach is an important place for Active. Surfing and the surf lifestyle has always been an influential part of our business and we can’t wait to bring our unique offering to the Huntington Beach community.” More details regarding this location will be disclosed in the near future.

In addition to the highly anticipated flagship shops, Active is proud to announce its plans to open in El Segundo, Mission Valley, the Irvine Spectrum and Chino Hills by Summer 2008.
