Running into Pierre, Sobeca helps with fire relief, ZJ Boarding House wins contest…

CEO Pierre Andrí© Senizergues of Sole Technology with Rick Reiff

I went to OC METRO’s “Hot 25” party last night that celebrates the magazine’s biggest issue of the year. One of the best parts of the night was running into Pierre André Senizergues, who is heading to Paris to show the environmental documentary “The 11th Hour” to government officials there.

Pierre also told me he had just met Mikhail Gorbachev in New Orleans where Pierre was working on a rebuilding project. Our local skateboarding mogul is quite the internationalist activist. It’s always fun to hear where he’s been and where he’s going.

I had to ask him about the beard he’s growing. Pierre said it’s part of his costume for his annual Halloween party Saturday night in Newport Beach, this year with a “green Halloween” theme. I’d be going except for a family conflict. Hate when that happens!

On the fire front, Sobeca is helping with fire relief by supporting Costa Mesa City Council Member Katrina Foley’s call to assist families whose homes have been devastated by the ongoing California fires.

Here are some details from Monet Quick with The Lab and The Camp: “Please bring ‘comforts of home’ gifts to the drop off bucket located within the LAB’s living room in front of the Crew Salon. Donations requested would include toiletries, pajamas (children and adult sizes), new blankets and towels, pillows, etc. These donations will be picked up daily and forwarded to those in need. LAB/CAMP management has “kicked off” the effort with a donation of toiletries today and thank you in advance for your community support.”

Please contact monet@thelab.com for further details.

The LAB anti-mall is located at 2930 Bristol St., Costa Mesa, ½ mile south of the 405 freeway…
