Sullen and Grenade expand collaboration

Sullen and Grenade expand

Press Release:

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF. (August 25, 2010) — Sullen Clothing, the art-driven lifestyle apparel brand defined by its focus on TRUE ART, has expanded its collaboration with Grenade, an action sport lifestyle company specializing in snow, moto and skate outerwear, accessories and apparel. The two companies are now collaborating on several pieces of art-inspired apparel for the Grenade Artist Series (G.A.S) with the newest offerings being introduced at the August 2010 ASR and MAGIC industry tradeshows.

“Sullen Clothing is all about building community through art, and we are honored to collaborate with Grenade as part of their Artist Series,” said Ryan Smith, creative director, collaboration artist and co-founder of Sullen Clothing. “Collaborations are an integral part of the Sullen brand story. We embrace working with artistic talents and our likeminded peers in the industry. The artists we work with, the brands we align with, become part our culture, the Sullen Family.”

The Grenade G.A.S. collaboration follows Sullen’s successful collaboration with Motocross Legend Carey Hart’s Hart and Huntington clothing line; and follows in the tradition of Sullen Clothing’s long-standing Collaboration Series with the various talents of the Sullen Art Collective – the brand’s dedicated showcase of custom t-shirts featuring the artwork and identifying signature of top tattoo, urban and fine artists from around the world.

Recent additions to the Sullen Art Collective Collaboration Series new for this ASR and MAGIC include: new co-produced artwork from Ryan Smith and Big Gus; the addition of original work from tattoist and graffiti artist Norm “AWR MSK” from the world famous ‘Seventh Letter Crew’ out of Los Angeles; and the legendary Black and Grey Tattooist Jack Rudy and his world-famous Good Time Charlie’s tattoo shop.

Making a name for itself during the past eight years as an art-driven apparel brand rooted in the So Cal lifestyle and tattoo art culture, Sullen Clothing has transcended the boundaries of genre by making art, attitude and tone its distinctive brand calling card. With its early popularity originating in the action sport community, the brand has continued to grow by taking on the challenge of bridging its popularity across the global skate, surf, snow, bmx, fmx, motocross, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), tattoo, urban and alternative/hardcore music scenes.

Now an international upstart sold in retailers throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia and parts of Africa, Sullen Clothing has built its solid reputation and frontline creditability as an artistic force and now collaborates with some of the best and brightest of the tattoo and artistic underground. These collaborators are part of the Sullen Art Collective, and include such noted talents as: Jack Rudy; Shawn Barber; Nikko Hurtado; Kim Saigh, Corey Miller; Big Gus; Carlos Torres; Tom Berg; Carlos Rojas; Steve Soto; Jack Mosher; Tattoo John; Jeff Gogue; Grant Cobb; Preston Chambers; Christian Nguyen; Riton Man “Henry B”; Bob Tyrrell; Jay Langer; Jay Cooper; Erik Rieth; and Braden Kendall (partial list).
