Vans x Rit Dye Boardshort Launch Party at Vans by Thalia Surf Shop

 

In celebration of DIY creativity, Vans launched the Vans x Rit boardshort collaboration last Friday, April 13th at the Vans by Thalia Surf Shop in Laguna Beach. With the help of loyal Thalia Surf shop patrons and the Vans surf team who contributed their designs, a clothesline full of colorfully-dyed boardshorts lined the ceiling of the shop.

 

The Vans x Rit dye boardshort collection upholds the Vans’ philosophy of custom culture, giving customers the freedom to create their own unique designs in a fun, interactive way. Throughout the night vibrant locals filled the atmosphere with imagination as partygoers grooved to the beats of local DJ Geometric while munching on free pizza and Primo beers.

 

Vans partnered with Thalia Surf shop to give five Facebook fans a chance to rub elbows with the Vans surf team and create a unique collection of boardshort designs to be showcased at the launch. Five local winners attended the earlier tie dye session along with Vans surfers Joel Tudor, Ivan Florence, Nathan Florence, and Tanner Gudauskas.

 

Vans by Thalia Surf Shop, adjacent to Thalia’s South Coast Highway store, melds Vans’ heritage with Thalia’s bohemian brand of beach culture in what is Vans’ first ever boutique surf partnership. The shop showcases a continuously evolving mix of Vans surf footwear and apparel including limited releases in shoes and signature Joel Tudor apparel.
