RED BULL JOYRIDE TEARS INTO NBC AS PART OF RED BULL SIGNATURE SERIES

 

Freeride Mountain Bike Event Airs Saturday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBC

 

New York– October 3, 2012 – As part of the Red Bull Signature Series, Red Bull Joyride airs Saturday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The top freeride mountain bikers in the world competed in the aggressive event that combines slopestyle, dirt jumping and North Shore style biking over bridges and logs. Sal Masekela will host the national broadcast.

 

Joyride is part of mountain biking’s biggest event of the year – the Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival in Whistler, British Columbia – and takes full advantage of the natural landscape to create the largest course ever used in competition.

 

The contest is a Diamond Stop, one of only two on the Freeride Mountain Bike Association’s world tour, making it a game changer that forces riders to bring their best moves, biggest airs and fastest riding to the hill. With the high level of talent and even higher stakes on one of the most complex courses in the world, Joyride pushes the progression of freeride mountain biking.

 

Red Bull Joyride is part of the Red Bull Signature Series – made up of 35 hours of one-of-a-kind programming on NBC and the NBC Sports Network all year long. Red Bull Media House and Alli Sports, a division of the NBC Sports Group, are showcasing the most progressive and innovative snowboarding, mountain biking, freestyle motocross, ice cross downhill, skiing and BMX events, showcased on custom courses from the inspiration of the athletes themselves.
