SURFING Magazine's 2015 swimsuit issue on newsstands now

SURFING Magazine's 2015

Press release:

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., April 2, 2015 – The 2015 SURFING Magazine Swimsuit Issue, an ode to The Golden Era of Swim, is now on newsstands. The popular stand-alone issue, now in its sixth year, was shot by irreverent LA-based photographer Mark Hunter (aka The Cobrasnake) and highlights two of the most influential decades in swim: the 60s and 70s.  A once-a-year departure from SURFING’s monthly tales of modern surfing culture, “the annual style bible of swim,” features three models and four pro surfers shot in exotic locales showing the year’s top swim trends and fashion.

“This year, we were really excited to have the pro surf girls involved,” said Swimsuit Issue Producer Kellie Cuttrell. “We’ve talked about it for a few years now, and it’s great to see it finally become a reality. They are such great surfers and beautiful women, it was a perfect fit for SURFING Magazine’s Swimsuit Issue.”

Surfers Sage Erickson, Alessa Quizon, Bree Kleintop and Quincy Davis, as well as, models Alexis Ren, Trew Mullen and Tereza Kacerova, frolicked around Barbados and Mexico for the camera wearing the sexiest beachside fashions doing everything from eating ice cream to splashing each other with the bluest seawater in all of Cancun. The Barbados shoot was 60s Gidget-inspired while the Mexico venues took on a 70s-glam vibe.

Best known for capturing hipster culture and the global nightlife scene, it’s been said: “you’re nobody until you’ve been shot by Mark ‘The Cobrasnake’ Hunter.”  With a unique eye and ultra-contemporary style, he brought a fresh new look to the pages of this year’s Swimsuit Issue.

“Working with SURFING has been an incredible experience,” said Hunter. “The models, locations, team, and energy that we captured in the magazine are really special. I thought I knew a lot about bikinis before this shoot, now I qualify as a black belt bikini master.”

Beyond the beautiful images that appeal to both guys and girls, the issue also serves as a guide to the seasons hottest swimsuit styles for any occasion: from surfing, to poolside lounging, to a day of adventure. It also features three style pages and two travel pages that will inspire you to hop on the next flight to a tropical destination, dressed to impress.
