Kering’s Todd Hymel has been promoted to CEO of Action Sports Brands, Kering announced Tuesday morning.

He will be moving from Paris to Costa Mesa to work even more closely with Volcom and Electric, which are owned by Kering.

Volcom CEO Jason Steris and Electric CEO Eric Crane already report to Todd, who previously held the title of COO of Kering’s Sport & Lifestyle division.

The move to Costa Mesa is designed to raise Kering’s profile on the West Coast while also allowing Todd to take a more active role in the development of Volcom and Electric worldwide.

Todd, who was born in the U.S., began his career in the audit field for KPMG. He joined Kering in 2008 as Deputy Director of Mergers & Acquisitions.

Todd’s new role officially starts July 1.
