Carlsbad, CA (May 11, 2015)- Surftech today publically announced that Bob Rief, Trent Pedersen and David Uri were appointed to the Company’s Board of Directors during the first quarter of 2015. Trent Pedersen also assumed the role as the company’s Chairman. The appointments follow the recent acquisition of the Surftech by Triple D and the relocation of the company’s primary operations to Carlsbad, CA.

The transformation of the company began with the hiring of current CEO Chris Dunn who joined the company in 2014 and who immediately began to restructure the management team, making several key hires and took measure to strengthen the long-term financial stability of the company. The results of the changes made the company a very attractive acquisition for Thailand based Triple D, who since the purchase has played an active role in the new direction for the brand. The new board appointments reflect Triple D’s desire to build the Surftech brand into a global leader by finding the perfect mix of individuals to lend their expertise the brand as it enters into the next 25 years of its evolution.

David Uri

Mr. Uri has been a private equity investor for over 20 years working with several institutional investment firms prior to forming Endurance Holdings, LLC in 2006. His experience covers business and strategic development, acquisitions, transaction structuring, corporate governance and financial analysis. Over the past several years, Mr. Uri has worked with both public and private companies in various capacities including acquisition assignments, divestitures, capital raises and interim management assignments.

From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Uri was a Partner with Pegasus Capital Advisors, LP, a private investment firm focused on complex debt and equity investments, including buyouts, structured loans, restructurings and bankruptcies. At Pegasus, Mr. Uri played a significant role in sourcing, acquiring and financing companies as well as managing portfolio investments, including Cannondale Bicycle Corporation, Merisant Company and American Wholesale Insurance Group, Inc.

Bob Rief

Industry veteran Bob Rief was the most recent addition to the board and brings a wealth of experience in the Action Sports and Active Lifestyle industry. With over 40 years of experience, Bob has held key positions in Nike Golf, Reef, Sanuk, C4 Waterman and Boardworks. As an avid waterman and enthusiast of the surfing lifestyle Bob brings a unique perspective to the company partnered with his years of experience. He was recently elected to be the Executive Director of SDSI (San Diego Sport Innovators), https://www.sdsportinnovators.org, an innovative business and brand incubation organization. Bob has a unique understanding of operational efficiencies and executing successful brand strategies into the global sales environment.

Trent Pedersen

Throughout his career as a designer, entrepreneur and in various senior management positions with the leaders in the action sports industry, Mr. Pedersen has earned a track-record of success in managing complex business initiatives, from start-ups to bottom line turnarounds, achieving exceptional rather than expected results.

In addition to his role as President of D Technical Consulting, Mr. Pedersen also serves on the Board Of Directors for Design Source Manufacturing and Composite Marine International and consults on Business Development for Cobra International. He has a wealth of experience with a career steaming more than 25 years in the action sports industry covering areas from product design, production management, retail, distribution, marketing, brand development and more recently in business development.
