Boardriders Hit by Cyber Attack
Boardriders got hit with a computer systems attack that led to slower shipments in several parts of the world.
The attack happened about two weeks ago, and required the company to shut down its systems and move to back up technical structures.
As a result, there were messages on several of the company’s e-commerce sites globally, including this week, that the company was experiencing delays and offering shoppers 20% off orders.
Those messages have been removed from the sites now because the company’s systems are largely working again.
We don’t have a lot of details on where the attack originated, who was behind it or just how difficult it made getting business done internally.
However, Boardriders did send us this statement:
“Recently, Boardriders Inc. was exposed to an increasingly common computer virus that impacted some of our systems in some regions. Our IT teams have been working to quickly restore our systems to support our operations, which are now largely transacting and shipping normally.
“We are proud of how our teams have responded to this challenge, and we are incredibly grateful for their hard work. We also greatly appreciate our customers’ and vendors’ patience and support during this brief interruption.”
